Four New Zealand writers have each been awarded a $5,000 CLNZ/NZSA Research Grant for 2022.

We’re excited to be supporting a free event for young writers at this year’s WORD Christchurch festival through our Partnership Fund.

Short answer: The lifetime of the author, plus a few decades, depending on what type of work it is, and depending on where in the world the creator is.

As a not-for-profit collective management organisation (CMO), jointly owned by the Publishers Association of NZ (PANZ) and the NZ Society of Authors (NZSA), CLNZ issue licences, administrates revenue distribution, and acts with advocacy, representing both copyright owners and licensed users in the New Zealand creative scene.

As artists, the world around us is full of inspiration and our relationships with people and the environment spark creativity. But is it all ok for me to use? As we create, we need to consider story sovereignty - who has the mana to tell the story?
