For the third time, we're conducting the CLNZ Writers' Earnings Survey for 2020. The resulting report has proven to be one of the most useful tools the writing community in Aotearoa has when advocating for writers.
Horizon Research are hosting the CLNZ Writers’ Earnings Survey for 2020. This is the third time the survey has been undertaken and the resulting report has proven to be one of the most useful tools the writing community in Aotearoa has when advocating for writers.
To ensure this survey is representative of the breadth of writing that takes place in New Zealand, we are asking writers of all genres and income brackets to participate.

The survey questions ask for estimations of your earnings from writing. Please provide the closest estimates that you can. Responses are confidential. The survey is being hosted by an independent research company. All information provided will be aggregated prior to being made available to CLNZ. No individual responses will be published.
It is best to complete the survey in one session. If you do need to take a break from the survey, please do not close it, or you will be unable to restart from where you left off. That is because the survey system deliberately does not track who you are and would therefore not be able to find your survey record again.
If you choose to provide your contact details at the conclusion of the survey, a copy of the survey report will be sent to you once it is finalised. Any questions in regard to the survey can be sent to info@copyright.co.nz.
The survey will be left open over the summer break and into mid-January. We encourage you all to complete the survey and to share the link with writers who may not have come across it.
