Appplications are now open for an independent director to join our CLNZ Board. This appointment process is being undertaken by the Board to find a suitable candidate to replace a current independent director whose term on the Board is due to end in December 2021. The new appointee will attend their first CLNZ Board meeting in February 2022, having completed an induction process prior to that date.

Copyright Licensing New Zealand (CLNZ) is a not-for-profit organisation, jointly owned by the Publishers Association of New Zealand Te Rau o Tākupu (PANZ) and the New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi o Aotearoa (PEN NZ) Inc (NZSA).

Particular skills / competencies sought
The Board requires a diverse mix of personal traits, industry experience and skillsets from its directors that support delivery of the organisation's strategy. Applicants for this position will be considered against these criteria. It is not expected that any individual director will possess all of the required criteria, rather that the entire board composition will include a matrix of the required criteria of personal traits, industry experience and skillsets.

In particular, this appointment seeks someone with experience in digital technology strategy, transformation and implementation in business operations. A diverse perspective and awareness of current social and cultural trends as they apply to Aotearoa New Zealand business, along with an understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is also required.

Committment required
The Board meets four times a year (generally February, May, August, November) and uses online communication between meetings. Board documents are circulated in both print and digital formats at least seven days prior to each meeting. A full induction process will be provided prior to attendance at the first meeting of the Board.
Term
The appointment commences from February 2022 and is for an initial term of three years.
