“That which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet,” wrote Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet. Well, we wish copyright infringement didn’t smell, but it does, and it has lots of “by-any-other-names.”
Other words for Copyright Infringement
“That which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet,” wrote Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet. Well, we wish copyright infringement didn’t smell, but it does, and it has lots of “by-any-other-names.”
Here’s a few to help with today’s vocabulary development. Infringement is basically any kind of copying without permission, and can take the form of: forgery, fraud, art theft, plagiarism, lifting, joke theft, direct copy, counterfeit, appropriation, copycat, cloning, piracy, ripoff, fake, replica, sampling, derivative, reposting, sharing, forwarding...and I'm sure we're forgetting something.
Anytime a literary, musical, artistic or dramatic work is reproduced without permission could be an infringement, so know before you go, and remember – the more original you can be, the stronger the protection of copyright applies to you.
Bonus point to you, if you think of any other words for infringement!
